There’s a song that’s inside of my soul
It’s the one that I’ve tried to write over and over again
I’m awake in the infinite cold
But You sing to me over and over and over again

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands
and pray to be only Yours
I pray to be only Yours
I know now you’re my only hope

Sing to me the song of the stars
Of Your galaxy dancing and laughing
and laughing again
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that You have for me over again

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you’re my only hope

I give You my destiny
I’m giving You all of me
I want Your symphony
Singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs I’m giving it back

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you’re my only hope

  • God to give me direction. I’m going through a career crisis right now….
  • That I stand up for myself. That I stay firm in my convictions.
  • Love on my parents as we continue to talk about my future and what they want for me.
meanest thing I’ve ever done to someone else

man, this list is pretty long.. I’d say when I was in elementary school and I pinched this toddler a few times because she wouldn’t stop crying and whining about something. Yeah, I was messed up LOL.

MY FAVORITE CLASS

STATEMENT: I thoroughly enjoyed AP Microeconomics in high school. Though my score on the AP exam did not reflect my enjoyment.

REASON: My teacher, Mr. Haan, was quite the eccentric one. Everyday I’d be welcomed into class by a man in a fisherman’s hat and vest screaming WHEREEEE ARE MYYYY STUDENTSSSSSSSSS in the hallway, stopping every student to ask if he/she was his student. Everyday his roars and screams of economic terminology would echo throughout the halls, even with the door to his classroom closed. He would always stop teaching with 30 min left in class and turn on the song Don’t Worry Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin. His normally deep voice would suddenly sound like a broken whistle, and would sing the songs in the most terrible Jamaican accent in the entirety of this world. And as he sang this song, he would dance, hopping on one foot and then the other, making conducting movements with his hands.

He hated the environment. He specifically hated when his students would recycle. To prove his point, he ripped open a stack of new paper, threw it in the trash, and then poured his cold coffee all over it while laughing maniacally. He always spoke of his bed and breakfast at Mackinac Island (which I thought was somewhere in Canada, but turns out it’s actually in Michigan) and how he encountered bears when out camping with his sons. Oh, and he was an enemy of hallpassers. Hallpassers, innocent students who walk throughout the halls with dean passes and such to give to students during class, were terrorized by this man. If one came into class, he would scream
HOW DAREEEE YOU DISRUPT MY CLASSSSS and make them feel worthless. He would even throw desks in a fit (which were of course, feigned). All his lessons were taught in his loud, rumbling voice and he would yell every concept and make us repeat them over and over again. His spit flew everywhere, and the people in front would have random wrinkles in their notes from where his saliva landed. He refused to sign or grade anything unless he had his fountain pens.

He was a very smart man. He also cared genuinely for every single one of his students. He would ask what we wanted to study (and crush our dreams. lolol) and teach us how to be successful in… life. Mr. Haan made microeconomics memorable, and though I know I am not meant to study business, I do not regret taking that class my senior year in high school.

One thing you want to see happen in our LG before break?

I guess I wanted to see people open up, and it happened. Kinda. It was long, but awesome hearing how everyone had been doing this past semester :)
